Hi everyone, I caught 2 queen ants in mid August. They started laying eggs and even had larve, but then stopped caring for them one day. Why? Is it due to hibernation season coming soon?

There could be a lot of reasons. What species do you have? What setup are they in? How have you cared for them?

I not 100% sure what species, I believe lasius. I have kept them in an AC test tube setup in a dark, warm, quiet closet. Only checking on them once a week.
