ant reproduction i guess ??
recently i caught a young camponotus colony, with some workers, a major and some puppae, i also kidnapped some brood from another colonies which they accepted, but after 3 days the queen died and there was only the workers, the soldier and the puppae. turns out some of the puppae i kidnapped were from alates (a queen and multiple males) and the ones that hatched already are being accepted by the workers, so, i was wondering, can i force the queen to mate with the males so the colony dont die? and if i manage to, will the colony even accept her ?
Re: ant reproduction i guess ??
They won't mate with males from their own colony, the best way to save your colony is to introduce a new queen and hope they will accept her.

The males are from another colony, i just need to find a way to make her reproduce with the males

Maybe you can try to find more and place them in a jar near a light at night.

Kill the last hope of them they can do with no problem, but get the balls to kill any nearly dead protein source? nah
