Hello from Sydney Australia
Hi I'm a 13year old boy living in Sydney and after discovering the interesting hobby through Mikey Bustos 6 months ago I caught my first queen in early December. Now I have 9 queens which I think are iridomyrmex, living in the AntsCanada Omni and hybrid nests.
I'm interested in selling some of my queens on the GAN project. I think I will be the first seller in Sydney, the biggest city in Australia.
I got a macro lens for Christmas and I started taking some videos with my iPad.
Here is the first video I have made of my ants close-up and I will be making some more soon.

Wow! What an awesome colony you have there! Great YouTube video as well. The GAN Project would love to have you as a GAN Farmer!

Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

Re: Hello from Sydney Australia
Nice! How many of your colonies have multiple queens? Are they all monogynous?

Re: Hello from Sydney Australia
Yes they are all monogynous I tried to keep a colony with two queens (iridomyrmex) but unfortunately one queen got attacked in the test tube and she lost a leg and died. So I know not to do that again. I did find some Pheidole Queens once but they are less easy to find and I didn't have a chance to put two together because they ended up not surviving for various reasons. And a few months ago I found a Camponotus consobrinus queen ant (she was a huge bull ant)and she laid a few eggs but I let her go because I didn't feel ready to accomodate them after being told they can bite real hard.
