Greetings all! Me and my girls have been watching AntsCanada for awhile. They finally convinced me to jump in. Unfortunately, I am right in the center of RIFA. Every park, tree and Bush is under invicta occupation.
Anyone else like this?
I made the rule with them that we would not buy a queen.
Suggestions?
Regardless, this is going to be fun and I look forward to it.

a lot of ant keeping is in areas of invasive species like RIFA you can still find plenty of ants it just might be a bit more challenging

How To Identify Ants
Re: Spring, Tx
Do a search for ant species in your area and then start from there. I have family in Spring and I know I have seen pavement ants and also what I believe were black carpenter ants. Like I said once you find out whats in your area you can start narrowing down the search based on the species and where and how to find a queen.
