Hello from New Mexico!

Hi, my name is Dawn. I'm 26, stay at home with my son, and I'm new to ant keeping. I have over the past few weeks caught a number of queens. I came across ant keeping while researching beetle keeping. Ants and other creepy crawlies have always been a fascination of mine and I am very glad to have come across the AntsCanada youtube channel.
I am lucky to live in southeastern New Mexico not far from the Carlsbad Caverns. There are an incredible number of ant species in New Mexico, especially in this area. So far I have caught three pogonomyrmex queens (harvester ants are in great abundance and many different species), two trap jaw queens I have yet to identify, a tiny tiny queen who has the largest brood of any of the queens (possibly a pavement ant of some nature though again I'm not sure), and two very light colored queens I believe to be honeypot queens are the most recent additions. I will post pictures for more positive identification soon.
Well, I hope to become a great part of this huge family you have created. It will be fun getting to know you all.
