Greetings from the lands of the O'odham (Aka Phoenix AZ / Upland Sonoran Desert)!!!

I am new to ant keeping, though I am not new to the idea of it, it has always been an interest of mine. This year I plan on getting into it, I am very excited. I got my tubes ready to be prepped, I've been documenting where I've seen ant nest in my yard and surrounding area. As well as spending time trying to do research into the species of my immediate area (my research is very clearly lacking). If you have any info please post away. I am also looking for any resources (websites/youtube etc). If you have discord mine is Unn#1258

This is what I have so far, I don't know how accurate it is, nor how many species it's lacking:

February - April
Veromessor pergandei Desert Harvester Ant

March - July
Camponotus ocreatus Carpenter Ant

March - September
Dorymyrmex bicolor Bicolored Pyramid Ant

April - August
Solenopsis xyloni Native Fire Ant

April - September
Pogonomyrmex barbatus Red Harvester Ant

June - August
Pheidole desertorum Big-headed Ant
Odontomachus clarus Bear-trap Ant

July - August
Pheidole xerophila Big-headed Ant

July - September
Pogonomyrmex rugosus Rough Harvester Ant

July - October
Acromyrmex versicolor Arizona Leaf-cutter Ant

If you are looking for any type of queen ant you can do the following: wen it rains you can go to an open area (side walk, driveway, open park...) and walk along that for a wile and keep your eyes pilled for any small movements (this is the way I find queen ants).
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]

If you are looking to buy a colony have a look at the GAN project .

do I know you... anyways... at the moment Phoenix has got anything to offer... nor does the northern part of Arizona.... only Tucson
but they're having a decline in ant sp. due to not being able to catch anymore queens in monsoon season
