Camponotus Eggs not hatching
I caught a camponotus queen and it payed eggs about 3 weeks ago and they still haven’t hatched and I’m wondering if this is normal and if it isn’t what can I do to fix it?
Re: Camponotus Eggs not hatching
it could be your checking on her too much just leave her alone in a dark place for a week and then check.

Dude, it takes 8 weeks for the eggs to become a worker.xanderplee69 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 9:55 pmI caught a Camponotus queen and it layed eggs about 3 weeks ago and they still haven’t hatched and I’m wondering if this is normal and if it isn’t what can I do to fix it?

No not all the time. My current Camponotus colony took almost six weeks to go from egg to worker.DinoBoi4AntsLove wrote: ↑Sun Jul 15, 2018 7:27 amDude, it takes 8 weeks for the eggs to become a worker.xanderplee69 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 9:55 pmI caught a Camponotus queen and it layed eggs about 3 weeks ago and they still haven’t hatched and I’m wondering if this is normal and if it isn’t what can I do to fix it?
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.
Re: Camponotus Eggs not hatching
Well yes it is normal, it depends on the specie you catched. I got a Camponotus too, and the eggs went through all metamorphosis almost in 12 weeks. So don't worry and just be patient.xanderplee69 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 9:55 pmI caught a camponotus queen and it layed eggs about 3 weeks ago and they still haven’t hatched and I’m wondering if this is normal and if it isn’t what can I do to fix it?

Yes, the larger the species, the longer the development time.
