My lasius Niger queen isn't shedding her wings for over 2weeks now

My lasius Niger queen I captured isn't shedding her wings for over two weeks now does someone know what that means I've read somewhere that that means that she hasn't mated yet but is that true ? I did catch her of the ground.

Wing shedding is NOT a proper way to see if she is fertile. The only ways to know is if you caught her while mating or when she has her first nanitics. If she has males she is infertile.

Not all queens tear off their wings immediately. Some actually wait for her nanitics to do that for her. So you'll just have to be patient.
