You could also softboil (in boiling water for 4-5 minutes) an egg and give them a small piece of the eggwhite. Or try some fishfood. Some ants eat them too.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.

What jelly cups should I use and where should I get them I have a carpenter ant colony .

And peanut butter can make a big mess. They could also get stuck in the peanut butter.
