I have recently caught a queen not sure if its camponotus or not but the day after I caught her she laid eggs and bundled them together now every time I look at her she runs to her eggs and picks them up why is she doing this? Lastly she left one egg away from the bundle why is it not in there? Thank you for your time :D

I am not sure but I have some guesses, she probably runs too the eggs to protect them. How often do you look at her? I only look every 3 weeks because she might eat her eggs if you scare her too much. I have noticed that my queens keep the eggs in different places too. It might be that some eggs are newer/older and need a different humidity than the others. But those were just guesses. :D
With all the things ants can do, you wonder, who rules the planet :?

Camponotus Pennsylvanicus

Well I use to look at her very flipping second not joking but I stopped now and I don't know how she's doing but I'm pretty sure she has not eaten them
