I recently found a colony of ants on a flower and i caught them and put them in an ac ant tower small which in hindsight it would have been better if i put them in a test tube since they were only about 5-6 workers strong and after a week they made some tunnells and a nest but i dont know if i caught a queen as i only see aant with a rly swollen gaster but because i think they are prenoleis imparis it could be a replete my question is this do you think the ants would build a nest if there was no queen. thx

I think most ants would make chambers and tunnels even if there were no queen because they need a place to stay. You can do some more research and see if you think you caught a queen because repletes look different from queen. If you did not catch a queen then you can release the workers back

If the repletes are full then they wont eat anything
