Camponotus queens are fully claustral but sadly many things can cause their death. She could have some how drowned, lack of oxygen etc. They are very fragile unfortunately. Are you sure she is not just hibernating? Is it cold in your area?

The weather is very inconsistent here. Cold soikes and what not but it’s warm where she was and the other ants are still Very active. I’m pretty sure she is dead. They end of her water cotton looked pretty dry could that have been why?

It might be. All ants need water even when they are hibernating. Ants can only last a few days without water. Do you have another colony?
