Ants being transported into a new formicarium.

I recently caught a pheidole colony that I found in a pot whilst gardening. I have ordered a formicarium but I have no idea how to transport them from the dirt-filled jar that they are in and into the formicarium without getting too much dirt into the formicarium. Please help.

Hello Hjcresp, If you could describe or post a pic of the formicarium that would help some. I know you have your reasons but I don't see why you wouldn't mind some dirt in the formicarium. If the ants were already in dirt it should be fine to keep them in dirt.
If the are in a jar,I would recommend attaching some sort of tube to the jar and letting them move on their own. Other than that, I don't see a way without endangering the queen.

The formicarium has a sand wall for them to dive at the back and space at the front where I will put their food and water. This is the formicarium https://www.antkeepingdepot.com/collections/nests/products/anthouse-acrylic-sand-starter-kit.

Ok, Really the best way is to use tubing and let them do it, they bring some dirt over, or carry some sand back. But there's also a chance they won't move at all, and that could be because of humidity visibility, or any other reasons. So it's really up to the ants.
