Probsbly not extremely helpful but either lasius or formica
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
Keeping Tetramorium immigrans, Tapinoma Sessile

Re: please identify queen
Probably Lasius sp. but can't say which one....
In any case i would seperate the two queens sitting together, that will most likely not end well no matter what species it turns out to be

Re: please identify queen
Lasius americanus is the only North American species from the niger group which flies in July. We won't be seeing the others until mid-August.
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.
