Help identifying ants in Arizona

Hi!

I am home-schooled and me and my sister want to make an ant colony for a science project. We are in South Arizona; south of Tucson. We've caught three ants. We caught the first one on the 9th of July on our porch. We caught the other two today, on the 18th of July, at the pool. We were wondering what type of ants they were. It is especially important that they are not fire ants because both my mom and dad are allergic to them and have been to the ER after they got stung. We are not sure if the second one is a male or a female. If the pictures are not good enough my mom is going to get us something better for taking close up pictures and we can take better pictures when it comes. Thank you for your help.

They all look like pogonomyrmex sp to me. Not entirely certain on a more positive ID without a closer look myself. Possibly pogonomyrmex barbatus on the red ones, bearded harvester ants.
