Wow Can't believe I finally got my pic to come up!! Found this large ant when I was walking this morning. Is this a fertilized female? I live near Medicine Hat, Alberta Canada. What species might this be? I am so happy. This is my first large ant I've found. Been looking for awhile.

Sadly that is a Camponotus major worker not a queen.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.
