Are either of these a queen?

Hello Everyone,

New to the forum and ant keeping in general. I have always wanted to keep ants, but until i stumbled on AC's videos I didn't think it was possible.

I recently started looking for a queen. I live in Rhode Island (the smallest state in the US and considered Southern New England, right south of Massachusetts.). These are the two I caught. The big one is really feisty and keeps pulling at the cotton to get out. It won't stand still to take a better picture yet, but i will try again in a few days.

I am hoping you might be able to tell me if you think either one is a queen, and what species. I tried watching AC's videos but still can't tell.

Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Image

Camponotus Pennsylvanicus. It’s a major worker, not a queen.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.
