Need an ID
Hi! I'm new to this forum, this is my second year of antkeeping. Last year didn't go so well, i had no idea what i was doing. This year is going much better, i have a colony of Formica Cunicularis that is about to have their first nanitic.
Anyway, i have caught these 3 queens. The first 2 are about 7mm, the third is about 1cm. They were all caught in France. Any idea?

Re: Need an ID
We would also need pictures to give a proper ID. That generally needs to be accomplished through a hosting website like Flickr.

Re: Need an ID
They look like Lasius spp. to me. More photos of the first two queens with good lighting would be helpful.

Re: Need an ID
Doesn't really look like Lasius sp. to me. That is, the only lasius species that i really know are niger, flavus and umbratus so... As for lighting, not much i can do right now. I'll take better pictures tomorow. Any idea on the third queen? Lasius too?
Also, the hell is BBCode?

Re: Need an ID
There are more Lasius out there than that!
BBCode is a format language for message boards (usually involving ][ brackets, like what I used to make Lasius italicized). It looks like you tried to embed your first photograph with an html format.
