Hello! I have a queen that I captured early June in my garage. She has five workers now and seems very happy. When I first found her I thought she was a carpenter ant but now I am not so sure. I would love help ID-ing her if possible :D , I have a video of them here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLX1f7SVXco

I live in central Minnesota and the ants are mostly black with darker red thoraxes (it is a little unclear in the vid). At the moment I can't get a measurement on them but I can when I get back Monday if need be.

Size would help, but it looks like Camponotus Novaeboracensis
Ants are life's most successful invaders. Understand and respect that power.
