Queen ID
I picked up this yellow ant in my backyard in Dallas Texas. The head and thorax are are darker while the gaster has a brighter yellow hue. Any ideas on what it could be, it looks different from a citronella ant. My first guess is a yellow crazy ant. I attached a photo of the ant to this thread.

You have to upload to a 3rd party website like flickr and link to it here (or better yet, embed the photograph in the post).

Re: Queen ID
Are you sure it's a pheidole I've been having trouble finding any bright yellow ants in this genus. The garter has bright yellow stripes could it be a crazy ant?

Ok, I think it's a Pheidole Floridana. Thanks again for your help!
