Hey guys,

This would be my first queen, hoping you tell me 2 thing: 1. That it’s a queen! And 2. That it’s a pavement ant. 1 being more important than 2 :) I caught this ant today 6/24/18, at a park next to a lake in central NJ, USA. It’s about 8mm and has some light stripes on it’s gaster. It was so big I thought it was a carpenter ant, hope I was wrong! Thanks for the help!

Thank you! Look like a queen to you? This would be my first queen, so naturally I’m skeptical! Also, I ordered the tetramorium setup from AntsCanada. Would that work for Formica ants?
