Okay, So im not quite sure if this is a camponotus queen or not i found her with many others that look similar to her on June 2 in Lubbock tx. I need help identifying her to make sure that she is one and possibly a genus ? This is a queen you can tell from the first and even better the second one I can’t tell you the genus or species but if you look at the first photo and look at the middle it’s not thin but wide and in the second one I can make out wing scars and like AntsCanada stated it has a big gaster and a plateau shaped middle

If the measurement is accurate, that would make her Forelius pruinosus.

Well i know she is a queen because she has her first broad and wing scars i already knew that. I was just needing the species. Ive been ant keeping for 2 years now but with black sugar ants .

How did you come up with this batspiderfish?

Okay sorry i measured completely wrong. She is 8 mm long or 5/16th of an inch

If she's 8mm, then Dorymyrmex becomes a possibility, but that distinction would require better photographs.

Okay so which genus would it be with the yellow strips on her gaster. Is there a specific focal point for the pictures so you can identify her better ?
