As I was making rounds in my yard yesterday trying to diminish the fire ant mounds, I happened to notice several dozen nests of tiny black ants. I dug one up and captured the queen and a few workers. They are tiny, the workers are about 1mm and the queen is 4-5mm These were captured in Central NC. ID help would be greatly appreciated.

She is doing well in captivity and is eating. Hard to tell with my weak eyes but I believe she has brood. Macro lens for my phone should be here tomorrow so I'm hoping to get better pics.

I think I found it. Monomorium minimum, perhaps?

Probably Monomorium, but it's hard to tell from the one angle.
