Queen caught in North Qld Australia

Caught in the evening on 8 March, inside the house. 10mm long. Very active and feisty. She will pick up her eggs and run around madly when I check on her.

Not exactly sure, but I think it may be a species of Iridomyrmex or Melophorus.

I would be leaning more on the Iridomyrmex side though.

It may be Camponotus sp. too, but 163 Camponotus species live in Australia.

It is most likely to be Camponotus Cairns. Here is a photo of the species.
