I'm new to the forums and new to the any KEEPER world. I e been feeding and watching ants all my life. As a kid feeding and terrorising ant hills to an adult allowing colonies to grow in my yard and watching them. But recently I planned to purchase ants, I pre made a plaster and sub terrain enclosure. Made it big enough for a thriving ant species from my area, then found AntsCanada in attempt to purchase a queen. I live in Arkansas now and I've recently moved here from Mississippi. Both in united states and neither have a GAN project. So I set out to my backyard to dig up one of multiple ant colonies I see. (I believe I dug up 2 or even 3 different genus of ant on accident) the ants I have are 1-
Very small light tan even white colored ants/they had cavities they were in with allot of eggs. They kept readjusting the eggs once I move them to the enclosure. 2- very small bit shinney black ants found in small cavities with their own eggs. 3- larger than all the other ants and grouped together AFTER I captured the fast ones in the enclosure are about 30 (including what I believe to be 2 winged male ants and 1 larger/but only double in size of the other ants/ a winged female. I hope. Possibly their queen. They are dark brown with lines on the butts "new to ant keeping reminder". I searched Google and I think they're rover ants. PLEASE HELP

There is absolutely positively no way you can narrow it down that far without pics.

You are right. I spent time last night observing and researching it's monomorium minimum

When did you catch this queen? Tetramorium and monomorium are very similar in appearance.
