Hello everyone!
I am new to the hobby and today I just caught what I believe to be my first 2 Queen Ants. I'm not 100% sure if they are queens, but I am hopeful! I found them crossing the street when I was on a walk around 7:30 PM May 22 (today) in Northern Massachusetts. They are abound 5 or 6mm long (Not including antennae) and are dark brown with light brown legs. If you could help me identify these and determine if they are in fact queens, that would br great!
Thank you!

I have a carpenter ant, so I know the species. But I don’t know if it’s a queen or a worker, It has stripes on it’s Black abdomen, It also has a brown head and thorax.
