Re: Queen Ant Identification
Hi, I have recently (around memorial day) caught a queen and am wondering what it's species is, could you help me out. She is about 15mm long and when I put her in a test tube setup she was pulling at the cotton, she was found in the Hudson Valley, New York
Thanks

Re: Queen Ant Identification
Would love help with an ID on these two. I do live in southern Ohio and recently found them at a local park. Any help would be amazing as this is my first go at ant keeping.

Re: Queen Ant Identification
Hi everyone! Like a lot of us, I'm pretty new to all this and caught a queen on June 19th in Northern Virginia (she fell into my dinner while I was on the back porch haha). She's laid a decent sized batch of eggs in her test tube setup, but I'm realizing I don't know what to expect from her once they start developing. If anyone has any good resources to ID her or recognizes what she is from my pictures, I'd really appreciate any help!

Re: Queen Ant Identification
I recently caught this ant due to its size. Seemed abnormally big so I wanted to know if it were a queen. I'm struggling to figure this out, however, as I can't even figure out what kind of ant she is. Does anyone know? Any guesses on if she's a queen?

Re: Queen Ant Identification
No she is not a queen.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
