I caught this lady outside of work last week and am just curious on her proper identification. This will be my first colony and as such I am well aware that I lack proper skills at identification. She already has started laying eggs. I think she is Camponotus herculeanus.

(Sorry for the OneDrive link, it wouldn't let me attach a picture)
Oh and I am from Alberta, Canada.
Thanks for the assistance!

Hi all,

I’m from North Yorkshire in the UK and it’s getting to the right conditions to see nuptial flights in my area. In my garden on the grass I found what I believe to be a worker but could be a queen based on the humped back and possible wing scars.

Any help would be appreciated on species and whether or not she’s a queen!

Thanks guys!

Hey guys I’m trying to figure out what ant species I found. I found what I believe to be the queen, and of course plenty of workers. The possible queen, and alates have a brownish ring on their abdomen(gaster), as do some of the larger ants in the colony. The small workers have abdomens(gaster) resemble what I’ve found online like acrobatic ants. Also some of the small ant pointed their gaster up to sting like acrobatic ants do. Queen size is maybe 1/2 -3/4. Found in Memphis Tn area.

We found this little ant today. Not sure if she is a small species/new queen or a male ant? Hopefully this link works. Found in Auckland, New Zealand. Can measure her if that’s helpful!
