Your queen also looks like one of mine, and we both live in the same area. I’m about to make a separate post where we can (hopefully) both get these identified.

Jumping in as well, caught a queen in my room. All I know is that it does NOT look like a Solenopsis genera.

Forgive the crap pic, only have the cam on my smartphone and she isn't very big (8mm at most, red & black with a red fading to black gaster).

What's throwing me off is that she has a squarish head.
