I caught a queen ant in longmont Colorado on 7/25/2017 and I need help identifying the species.

Need some better, closer pics to properly identify. Maybe some type of Pogonomyrmex? Really hard to tell.

Almost certainly a type of Pogonomyrmex. Sorry, but I can't ascertain the species. Most common species around here are P. Occidentalis, P. Barbatus, and P. Rugosus. Congratulations, and you are going to want some seeds and nuts for them.

Not a hundred percent sure but I think it's pogonomyrmex barbatus .
