Strange might be queen?

I have been searching for ant queens for about a week now (I'm a newbie) and I went out after a huge rainstorm to look for queens. I have been unlucky so far but I found an interesting looking ant that could be a queen but I have my doubts. I found her on the side walk and thought she might be a queen as her mesozoma was a bit wider and more flat than workers I have seen. I also saw ants that looked similar to her nearby but they were smaller and thinner. By this logic it could be a major but I didn't think any species here in Maryland had majors. Could someone ID this ant species if you can and tell me if I'm in luck or need to keep looking. Thanks crew! ;)

Can you get a picture of her mesosoma?
