I think this is a Camponotus Pennsylvanicus, correct?
She seems to be 20mm/2cm
Caught her July 4th. She bounced off my leg and landed on my shoe. Even though she still had her wings, I took a chance an put her in a tube. Just checked on her today and it looks promising. She shed her wings and I can see several eggs.

Beautiful girl. No expert but probably or Camponotus Herculeus. (based on similar queens caught in Ottawa I asked ID's for) I apologize if I misspelled.

I was wondering about Herculeanus as well, trying to decide if that is red I am seeing. Considering buying a better camera...
