Ottawa ON queens
I caught at minimum one queen.(She took her wings off in tube) Both were caught within the last 48 hrs. The first is almost all black/dark brown and 2cm long. The other has a slight reddish brown hue underneath. I never saw it with wings so unsure. It is about 16mm long.
I think this may just take you to the post but fingers crossed.
Thanks for any help identifying, based on time and size I believe they are camponotus.

Re: Ottawa ON queens
I'm leaning more toward either Camponotus americanus or C. novaeboracensis on this one.

Most likely Camponotus novaeboracensis.
