She is about 7mm long, caught here while she was making her cloistral chamber under a rock. Caught her on the 18th near Williams Lake, in the interior of BC Canada.

Can you get a picture from the side? I feel that may be more helpful in her identification.

That looks an awful lot like Lasius Neoniger to me, but I'm still fairly new here.

No way to really tell without a picture from the side. It's pretty unlikely you'll find those in June.

Do you mean you found her digging a nest entrance? Or that she was just in a claustral cell under a rock?
