Tiny ant queen and nanitics
Hello everyone. I overjoyed that my first wild caught queens have successfully reared their nanitics, but they are so small i have no idea what they are. The queens are only between 3-4mm, the nanitics are barely visible at 1-2mm. the queens are stocky and black, the nanitics are thin with a golden honey color. Here is all the location and collection data i can provide. I am sorry but they are too small to photograph and I am not going to remove one of the nanitics to attempt to look at it with a microscope. Columbus, Georgia, USA. Night Nuptial flight, i found them at 4:00 am, 2 September, 2022 under a spot light of a building in a strip mall. I collected 4, but there were a few more, so the nest had to be close. When they get large enough i will pull one of the ants for a positive ID, i am just curious now. Thank you for any information.

Is there any way you can get a picture? Just of the queen, because otherwise I don't think you will be able to get an id.cyotespyrit wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 2:46 pmHello everyone. Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

Thanks for the assistance. Looking up Tetramorium immigrans, their queens have 2 nodes on a longer petiole, my queens do not.
