Florida queen ant ID needed
Hello all I'm vary new as in the last 2 weeks I got all my stuff from the AntsCanada store so I just started and I found a vary vary small ant queen on my driveway
Size: she is somewhere between 1.5 and 2.5mm can't get her still enought to get accurate messurement
When: Sunday Nov 6 about 10 am after it rained
Where: walking across my concrete driveway this morning we are close to the city but still rural area
Appearance: seems black to me but I am colorblind
Behaviour: she pretty much maintains her postion in the middle of the cotton that's blocking the water
Picture(s):https://imgur.com/a/aT4We1q
Additionally: again sorry I am vary new so the pictures are the best I could get with my phone and I'm getting into the hobby with my 6 year old who actually found this queen on my driveway this morning any help is appreciated even if it's just a general ball park of what she is.

Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

Gave it a look not sure if it's Formica subsericea from stuff iv been reading they are supposed to have workers the size of carpenter ants but this queen is tiny compared to some of the carpenter ant workers around my home

Oh, I guess the measurements did confuse me a little. Maybe Formica archboldi?
