Tetramorium or pheidole??
Hey everyone. Chris from Long Island, NY again. I caught 8 queens 2.5 weeks ago in dix hills NY at a park. They were having a nuptial flight and I caught it at the tail end while all the queens were going to find a place to hide. I was convinced they were tetramorium at first but now I'm not so sure. They have these spikes behind the wing scars which I don't see on my other tetramorium queens. And the gaster looks different. Someone else in another post caught a queen in Michigan that looks exactly like these queens and they said it was a pheidole, but the pictures weren't that good. These queens are 10mm long and were found flying and walking on a large open field of grass and leaves. Here are the pics: https://imgur.com/gallery/e2Yjgro
Thanks in advance everyone.

Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

Re: Tetramorium or pheidole??
I was doing some research on these ants. They are awesome. I also found that they tend to wait a year before they start laying eggs. Is that accurate??antperson24 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 8:22 am100% Crematogaster! You are lucky those ants are cool!LIExoticBreeders wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 12:16 pmHey everyone.
