Hey everyone. Chris here from long Island NY. I found a queen today that I thought was an Asian needle ant, but after looking at her up close through the camera, I am not sure anymore. She's 5mm long, and was found under a very large decaying log. Any ID would be great. Thank you. Here's the link to the pics:

Thanks in advance everyone.

I think it's highly likely it's ponera, hyponera, pseudponera etc... but I'm not sure. Both options would be hard to care for wish you luck

I got it IDed. It's a stigmatomma pallipes, Dracula ant queen.

Ooh those are cool.
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.
