And Another Species ID Help, please
Size: around 7mm
When: sometime around 3:30pm EST on 02October2022
Where: Walking around on a recently (24 hours prior) created mound of dirt near a pond and lots of trees and fallen logs, and other pond stuff
Appearance: dark gaster, red-brown/light brown rest of the body, decent sized head compared to body.
Behaviour: very active and always running around. Hardly ever sits still.
Picture(s): Again, couldn't get a very good picture of her as she hardly stood still. So I took a video as well.

I'm thinking she's a pheidole sp. queen, but again, I'm not certain she's a queen and I'm not certain she's pheidole. It'd be cool if I got another new species (I already have a pheidole) as that would bring my total up to 5 different species of queens in 2 months of actively searching.

What’s the likelihood she’s a parasitic species of lasius?

Re: And Another Species ID Help, please
Not sure but not impossible since most parasitic species have long legs as well as being very active

Lower looks claustral but a top view pic would confirm

I finally got a macro lens for my phone. So, here are some better pictures of her.

Update: I put some honey in her test tube and she hasn't touched it, does that mean that she's fully claustral?

No it means OiledOlives is right and she will need host workers to feed her

Re: And Another Species ID Help, please
Ok, thanks! I’m gonna release her, because I have no idea where to find some lasius alienus or lasius neoniger workers nor what to do when I did find them…
