Hello! I found this ant and her thorax seems to resemble that of a queen, but I'm not sure!

Size: 6-8 mm
When: September 16, 2022 10:50AM
Where: Neighborhood Sidewalk
Appearance: small seeming, non aggressive, flat thorax
Behaviour: slow, still

She is a queen! Maybe Pheidole?
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

Thank you for your response! At least she is a queen! This is the second one I’ve found like this. The other I’ve had for a couple days, so I’ll see if they start laying any eggs!

So after looking through hundreds of ants I think I figured out what I found..

A Pharaoh Ant. The Monomorium Ergatogyna

Kind of a bummer because I don’t think they are easy to keep. 😔

I don't know if she is that exact species, but I think she is Monomorium. :)

I found two within a few days of each other. Why would they be starved? I still haven't had much activity from them, but I have since offered them honey and some fruit flies. They are both still living
