Please help identify
Hello, I have a new queen!
I know for certain its Formica just want to know what species of formica
Size: 1 or 1 1/2 centimeters long I used a ruler.
July 28 1:00pm
Wisconsin Brookfield a small suburb near a park on a road
All black possibly some reddish legs.
When she was put in she stood still for a while just waving her antenna.

I thought Formica subsericea too, but then I looked at my queen and they don’t seem to match. AntsWisconsin, once the workers arrive could you post a picture of them too, that might help.
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.
