Hi, I was chopping logs then I broke a log in half and I saw a big ant, I believe she is a queen ant. She was almost alone except some smaller ants that where in the log as well but quickly hid away.
I decided to attempt to save the queen but I don't know what to do, as you can see in the images below, I tried to replicate the environment where I found her, but she didn't dig in the wood this night. I also put a bit of cotton with water mixed with sugar to help her sustain.
When: 21/08/2022 17:00
Where: Small country house in the south-west of France, near Cahors
Size: 1.5cm
Behaviour: She does not seem to move, maybe she is scared or sick ?

Probably Camponotus pennsylvanicus. No she is not sick, queen ants don't move much. Also your best off putting her in a test tube setup, here is how you do that:

Hope this helps.

Thanks ! I just put her in a test tube just like in the video, along some bit of apple, I wonder if this is ok? the video said to not feed her but since she don't have her wings to eat, I'm afraid she'll starve to death.
I also noticed that she is missing one leg, is there any way to help her?
Should I put her in the dark?

The one leg should be ok. It is a good thing you fed her, but you don't need to feed her anymore. Also you should put her in the dark.

That's great! Just know that
Camponotus are slow growers (1 1/2 to 2 months egg to worker).
