Hello, my name is Adam and I have recently caught an ant. I am unsure of the species and if it is a queen or not.
I found her on 8/5/22 at 3:48 pm in Ohio. At that time I was in my backyard which has a large amount of trees a little bit away. She has a spade shaped black head, a dark orange thorax, and an orange and black striped abdomen. Her approximate size is 12.5 mm
Pretty much as soon as I put her in the test tube, she started pulling at the cotton, but after a while stopped because It had gotten dark.
