I found this queen ant wondering across some concrete around 8:30 A.M. She is 6mm long and I think she might be Myrmica.

Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

i'd say Polyrhachis but they arent in your area, otherwise i have no idea. And she sure is beautiful :D
Favorite ant:
Polyrhachis/Echinopla

Founding:
-Dark Camponotus nicobarensis
-Polyrhachis illaudata
-Polyrhachis beccarii
-Polyrhachis rastellata 2x

Beginners must not keep Polyrhachis!

She has laid two eggs! This might not seem like much, but I am really exited as this is the first time I have ever gotten a Myrmica queen to lay eggs! They always get stuck in the honey and die, or just not eat and starve to death. But finally it is starting to go well! :D
