Many people have successfully raised Hypoponera and many other subterranean species.
Has anyone every gotten to maturity? I haven’t read to much about it, but I know some really experienced keepers fail after founding.

Also, army ants are temporarily keepable, as some have done it in North America.
I actually got Anochetus to alates. Also Leo from Formiculture managed to keep some Cerapachys but they probably died by now.

Anything is possible when using natural or plaster nest- Some guy in Florida

Anochetus is the sister genus of Odontomachus, are they hard to keep?
Keeping:

• Cataulacus granulatus x2
• Camponotus parius
• Odontomachus sp x4
• Pheidole prava x1
• Pseudoneoponera sp x1

I think it is hard to get a large colony of them, I don’t keep them(Yet)

I personally think they are easier than Odontomachus but I still don't think they are easy to keep. They are not as picky as Odontomachus when it comes to nesting conditions and food and they grow faster but you still need to get their preferred humidity correct, if too dry or too wet the larvae won't pupate. Also founding queens tend to be pickier than colonies.

I see, so you have to see what they like. My Odontomachus queens seems to be fine as long as I provide them with substrate that they can use to block or narrow the exit to the test tube. So I usually give them an out world.

Honestly my Odontomachus have to have partially moving prey

Or one of the following
Flies
Termites
Crickets
Mealworms

Mealworms they get tired of really quick. And crickets they get picky about sometimes… the only food that is always accepted is fruit flies and termites

For my Odontomachus founding queens are less picky, except when it comes to dead prey.

All my ants seems to love termites, I wish I could just stumble up on a termite nuptial flight, and maybe start a termite colony.
