I believe you have the American Carpenter ant, Camponotus americanus. They will not need feeding in founding, and will not bore through wood like other Camponotus.peteKey wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 10:45 pmHello everybody,

Thanks for answering, I thank so too, but is it a queen? Carpenter’s large worker looks 20-25% smaller than mine and it is more solid black color, isn’t it?SolenopsisKeeper wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 7:01 amI believe you have the American Carpenter ant, Camponotus americanus. You have indeed caught a queen. Good luck!
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony

TY. But I just found her laying on the side and moving head and legs sometimes. I thinks she is dying after the night

She might of been infertile, there is no real way to tell. Better luck next time.
