Hello everybody,

Found this one today during the evening walk outside. It is about 20mm long (tube is 25mm on the pictures). Let me know if you need more pictures.

I believe you have the American Carpenter ant, Camponotus americanus. They will not need feeding in founding, and will not bore through wood like other Camponotus.

Thanks for answering, I thank so too, but is it a queen? Carpenter’s large worker looks 20-25% smaller than mine and it is more solid black color, isn’t it?

TY. But I just found her laying on the side and moving head and legs sometimes. I thinks she is dying after the night :cry:

She might of been infertile, there is no real way to tell. Better luck next time.
