I'm curious about some fascinating ants I've been seeing
Hi guys! I've been seeing what for me at least are some very unusual ants around my yard. They must be elusive because I've only seen them on about 3 occasions now. I live in southern Wisconsin and these ants are usually light orange in color and they are absolutely shockingly tiny even by ant standards. No exaggeration they must be 5-10 times smaller than a pavement ant worker! I've gotten a very good look at them and they most certainly are unmistakably ants so I'm not confusing them with another small insect. Today I actually noticed them living seemingly peacefully alongside a nest of carpenter ants. What do you guys think they could be? I don't see any possible way I could get photos of them unfortunately. Sometimes you really have to squint to see them.

Well since you only have seen them 3 times then I suppose images are out of the question, they could be pharaoh ants or thief ants.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]
