Hello, fellow ant keepers. Could I get help identifying this ant, please? Found in Rooseville, Minnesota in late last summer, but did not lay eggs until over winter. Leaning towards formica sp. but would like the opinions of those more experienced than myself. Thank you.

Yes, it's a Formica, possibly Formica fusca.

Re: Ant Found in Minnesota Late Last Summer
Formica fusca don't live in North America, That ant is Formica subaenescens. Don't worry many people make this mistake.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]
