Found this queen ant right next to my front door, still with her wings. I left for work and came back nine hours later, she was still in my house! So I cleaned an old pill bottle and turned it into a makeshift test tube, ordered a proper AC Starter Gear Pack, and placed her in a dark and secluded place.

She is approximately 16 mm long. I got the best pics I could with my macro lens, but the container I had her in for the pics was not easy to shoot photos through.

The image below shows more detail on her head, and it appears to me due to those three marks that she's a fire ant. But this is the first time I've ever seen a queen ant that isn't on a screen, so I'm not exactly confident in my abilities.

I know this is not relevant to getting her ID'ed, but I named her Naydrax <3

Sorry bud but that is a male.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]

I didn't want to believe that at first, but when I searched up some pictures of male ants in Oklahoma I found some pictures of Camponotus castaneus males that are the spitting image of this ant.
I probably should of guessed from how large he is too.
The good thing is, this means nuptial flights are happening fairly close to my house! :D Thanks for your help!
